Dr. Richard Hodges

as their new Principal

In I Corinthians Chapter 2, verse 2 Paul says, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him Crucified.” This one verse sums up my dedication, commitment and desire to serve as principal of the Mellow Valley Christian Academy.

When asked about his vision for MVCA and Christian Education, Dr. Hodges responded, “One may choose to go to any public or private school for an education, but those who choose to attend MVCA will receive both a good academic education and a marvelous opportunity to discover who they are in relationship to Jesus Christ Our Lord.”

The Reverend Doctor Richard E. Hodges was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1981, The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979, 1980 and 1984, and completed his PHD in counseling Psychology in 1987, Specializing in Individual, Marriage and Family Therapy.

Richard is married to Linda Thompson Hodges and together they have two beautiful grandsons and four “grown & gone” adult children. In addition to his work as principal of Mellow Valley Christian Academy, Richard pastors the Cragford Community Church in Cragford, Alabama.

Our Faculty

We believe a teacher must be both academically and spiritually qualified to teach within a Christian school setting regardless of the subject matter being taught. Our faculty members have adequately prepared themselves for the teaching profession through the pursuit of higher education and teacher certification. All of our teachers are born-again Christians who are active in local Bible-believing churches and whose personal lives reflect the moral and ethical values one would expect of a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
